Hit the beach rather late Wed afternoon. Popped into Jamie's restaruant for steak. Pretty awful actually, should have eaten at the Old School house for half the price. Anyway afterwards managed to the OSH & light up before 19:30 so it wasn't too cold. SAM_5820.jpgHad a ERDSAM_5823.jpgM Lonsdale from '98, bit light after a heavy steak but it surprised me. I had to borrow a light froma Finnish girl & was just chatting to her when the flav's starting coming through quite powerfully for a ERDM. So I concentrated more & really enjoyed it. SAM_5821.jpgOf course the first one after a bi#ch of a 3 weeker is alwas the best. Next day managed to get to see the Poppies at the Tower;SAM_5840.jpg they had begun 'harvesting them' into boxes but still full on the flanks. Well worth the visit, estimated to take 2 weeks to complete so if you haven't been yet...

I had hoped to smoke a Party Short in the Mechant seamans grdns but I had bad guts after that damn steak & most of the morning was spent despirately trying to find a toilet. The only public one I found was on ht eriver bank & was out of order, a sandwich shop said they hadn't got one but the staff one was probably just through the door marked 'Staff only', I didn't barge in but 20mins later I was cursing myself for not doing so when I noticed a pub across the road with it's lights on. Now many pubs open for breakfast I crossed & found the door open, dumping my bags inside I just said 'morning' & just dashed into the head before she could say anything. Much releaved, I offered to take breakfast but she said it was acutally closed for a private party, thanked her kindly & left.
Admittedly I was in the City rather than the high streets but really appalling that there aren't more facillites & that shop workers can't reconize someone in genuine need & do the decent thing. I know they probably get asked a hundred times a day but a little compassion goes alongway.

On lighter note I saw the old laldy in Dazzle paint, I am sure the Belfast used to lie on the North Bank, near HMS President & now it's on the South. Can anyone else remember this?SAM_5839.jpg

A nice read there Simon I hope when you 'dumped your bags' that it was in the appropriate receptacle?

To be fair dumping od bags & dumping was almost too close to seperate & yes Punch66, I am afraid gas masks would have been needed!

A long week studying, an exam pass and a 7 hour journey.
Decided a nice treat was in order. Had a choice of 3 Cubans I've never tried before, CoRo, D4 and RyJ WC.
            Went for the D4

Well at least you made it Simon!
I had a similar tale in Valencia - but that is for another time!

Better than my story in Thailand, where the swim out to sea was shorter than the trek back to my guest house...
