ERDM Gran Corona 2001. Making the most of surprise sunshine in the garden with a double espresso and the new jack reacher book.

This cigar is really nice, mellow smoke but with some complex but delicate flavours and no nicotine baseball bat to the head

Its the first cigar for about 4 weeks I think and its a cracker

Back to a winter staple of fairly affordable Perlas for me, because "Sunny (for November)" still means "Bloody Cold" and I'm not sitting out here all afternoon.

First time in two weeks I've made time for a smoke, though.

The first cigar to kick my arse was the My Father Flor D'Antillas Toro; a former cigar of the year, that I smoked with an unsweetened cup of tea when I knew nothing. Despite losing three hours of my life I recall it being a superb smoke. So here I am a year later and I still don't know much but I know to be prepared for smoking the robusto!

Smoked one recently I think PJ, don't remember it putting me down!

Bought a tin of those Monte Blue's that butters has mentioned on here, a cross between a cigar and pipe tobacco and a nice bit of cuban twang, not too bad at all!

. It was summer 2013 when I was a complete newbie. Learning to recognise the effect of nicotine is one of the few things I've learned. You're an old sweat!

Well I survived my Flor D'Antilles with just a mild and happy nicotine buzz and my memory didn't let me down. This is a delicious non Cuban stick. No transitions to speak of except the occasional hint of white pepper on the finish but otherwise just creamy light toasted nut flavours with a really clean finish in the mouth and no hint of burning tobacco at all. Construction and burn was perfect though a couple of relights were needed at the end. So good a box could be in the offing.

Raining, chilly, getting dark and it's not even 5 o'clock .... just finished a Boli Tubos 3, very nice, but really not very nice outside .... how I envy the indoors smokers and owners of warm, comfy sheds!

If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
