H.Upmann Robusto 2012 LE. First one out of the box and one of the best smokes I've ever had (in my limited experience!). Wonderfully smooth flavours (maybe a little maduro-esque?), great construction and draw. Burn a little erratic but I can live with that.

Anyway going in with an open mind and a fresh palette!

First part apart from a tight draw was just like a Reyes! Fantastic!

Once up to here though a Reyes it was no more. Not sure what I think. Still a hint of sweetness but got that vegetive taste I didn't enjoy the last time but nothing like as strong.

        What an interesting little stick!
Its funny how taste varies, I find this particular stick one of my favourites. They do suffer from inconsistency and you can get a plugged one but when they're good they're really good.

But when they're bad they're horrid?

I wouldn't go that far, they honestly are one of my face little smokes in the price range. Considering the high chance of a tight draw that saying something. Remember I haven't got a very big pool if experience to compare with but so far I like this one. Have you had one?

Great Divinos. One ofr the great winter smokes if it likes your palate

Good that they're found all over Europe, too. I believe in convenience stores and what not, as well?

Not yet but I have the one you sent me still. You obviously didn't recognise that I was providing the next line to the rhyme about the little girl with a curl in the middle of her forehead, you provided the first.

My experience is that '08 was a very good year. These kind of statements are only ever opinions/guides and not absolute. My fave recent years are 1998, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2013. Of course this could all be BS and there are always exceptions.

Worth remembering the variables that lead to a good year are far more complex than just the harvest from a few years previous. And lets not forget the magic month code 'APR'.

Regardless of year there are always good and bad cigars. Original release cigars are nearly always good.

Good OR/'bad' year examples: Trini Robusto T '09, Monte Edmundo '04 ('04's are amazing, all others rubbish, they never got the blend the same again).

To be honest I'd probably try one again sometime [emoji4]

Cuaba is an interesting one for me, definitely plagued by draw issues.... But that hides a very pleasing flavour for me!
