Started with a wee RA Laguitio No3SAM_4708.jpg in the Church garden.SAM_4709a.jpg After lunch went to our Belgian friends garden & joined the rest of Belgium having a BBQ! Had a few glasses of bubbly & I brought the perfect cigar for the occasion, in fact a brand new box of them.IMG_0167.jpg It's always a special moment having the first stick from a new box so I wanted to share this particular moment with Paul. IMG_0168.jpg
This box was from Nov 11 & I normally like a decade on LGC's but this is already an amazing smoke. IMG_0171.jpgWonderful delicate honied floral flav, matched with a demi-sec champange that Ingrid prefers to the usual Brut.IMG_0175b.jpg Lasted 55mins but on my own I could have made it last over the hr.IMG_0182.jpg I revelled in the after taste & after glow for a couple of hrs before I reached for my next.
My first H.Upmann LE 2009 from Larryson's collection. IMG_0188.jpgI had this with a coffee, whilst flashing up the Barbie. Fine smoke, lasted just long enough at 40mins.IMG_0196.jpg
After a rather splendid Barbie (I always do the cooking & that way I can start my post Barbie smoke straight afterwards guilt free, whilst others clean up & fill the dish washer ect), Paul chose from a selection I had brought of shorter smokes for him, a Cohiba Secretos, also from Larryson. I have yet to try these myself but everyone assures me they are smoking just fine.
I chose something a little special from the back of the Boli cave, a Boli CG Tuos '98. It looked good, as this was from AdeUK's collection, this would have been stored in the tube in one of his humis (to answer questions whether to remove the cap or remove the stick from the tube). I punched it & a clean pre-draw, not dry & dusty. Had the perfect spring along the lenght & a fine aroma, when smelling along the length of the stick.IMG_0197.jpg
The CG flav started from the begining & after an inch I knew this was going to be a real classic. IMG_0204.jpgThe ash stayed on for 40%IMG_0199.jpg of the length before finally falling, after I have to move to say goodbye to some one leaving.SAM_4713.jpg The remaining stick just got better & the ash never fell again, when the burn reached the label & I put it down with the ash still intact.SAM_4715.jpg I found this smoke re-assuring, I still have some '02's & I was wondering if they might fade a little over the next few yrs but Boli's can just keep going like the annoying Duracell bunny.
A perfect end to a wonderful & rare perfect sunny week in Belgium for May. Hope you all enjoyed a great w/end too ?Last edited by Simon Bolivar; 18-05-2014, 10:49 PM.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

very nice! but four cigars with a CG from '98 being third?
never feel too much of a burning sensation from them, eh? I find that my tastebuds don't work too well past 3 cigars... But by then, i'd be much more worried about the niccy hitting my head, instead!Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

Butters, as you should know by know I don't usually smoke 4 cigars in a day, but these were spread out through the day, seperated by meals & time & when starting with lighter smokes & building to stronger it works well. Just as you start with drier wines & move on to medium & end up with port/ congnac, I finished off with a whiskey when I got home. If I had tried the LCG after the Boli, I would have no doubt missed plenty of the finer nuances but probably very little the other way around.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.
