do you think cigars will generally smoke better younger and have less ageing potential than previous years?

I don't really want to open that can of worms as it's probably too early days to tell, but between three and six years for smokes from now on might be the optimum. In saying that, I think that cigars made from the older pre-hybrid leaf were more predictable in their ageing potential and when 10 years ageing was pretty normal for vendors prior to selling .... not that I was actually smoking cigars then.

Started in the conservatory then 'booted' outside when SWIMBO wanted to air some ironing.

07 Bolivar Bonitas. Usually I love this cigar, and whilst it was smokable, it had flattened dramatically from how I remember cigars from this box being, the characteristic movement through taste sensations was missing. Maybe it's just a passing phase, or maybe it's me and my memory's shot, and it's a worry which if it was isolated wouldn't concern me too much, but I've noticed the same with several of my post 06 vitola, they don't seem to be aging as well as smokes from earlier years.

Might just be you taste buds fella, I often feel a different way about a bottle of wine on consecutive nights and it stands to reason cigars could be the same way.

Didn't expect to be sitting out tonight but the wind has gone so it was into the garden with a Rafael Gonzales Slenderellas from by birthday bomb and a caramel latte. How the mice play when the wife's away!
