John and I had one each a few weeks back and thought it was quite meh.

The good: good even burn, plenty of smoke, ash held on for ever.

The bad: had to be re-lit twice in the last third, it started with a cheap hamlet Tabasco taste.

The meh: very one dimensional, after the hamlet taste left it was not unpleasant but nether was it anything else in particular.

I would smoke again but will leave them to hopefully develop a character.

Film in the garden was great we had drive in food hot dogs, mini pizza and popcorn. Got a bit chilli late on but the patio heater helped with that. We watched super 8 which is a great movie kind of a cross between goodies and ET.

Are they likely to ever come round?

The mag48 was much loved and highly rated as one of the good EL's. Sounds like it may be sleeping again. Coming round is the eternal question for most cc's. Some are easier to predict. EL's are harder as unique blends. Probably higher risk than regular production but a good indicator is how good they were young.

Like the other 2008 EL's (sublime and duke) these were very good so could well come again. There did seem to be a very long production run on these and a bit of inconsistency so select well if looking to age.

Put some down, wait 5-10 years and see, all in the game.
