Well you did get the first one in Marc, I took one fishing this morning but although it got to 17oc it was too windy to smoke a pre-Rev cigar so waited til after lunch down at the cafe. The high walls reduced the wind, although it was still breezy, enough to blow napkins/ empty coke tins ect off tables.
Had a couple of smokes, as they were both from AdeUK's stash I'll post the details on my thread of the same name.

I don't wish to drag this into an argument as I just wanted to make the point that the post was unnecessary and also rude to a well liked and friendly member of the forum so I will say no more on the subject.
Well I will just bugger off then if we can't post what we think with out someone taking the hump or someone else thinking it is rude I can't be arsed to watch my p&q's as I will surely say something far more offensive to you sensitive souls as I am prone to do. Laters

Re: the other stuff, let's not fall out over small stuff. I actually didn't read what rascal said in the "bong" post as rude..... It's pretty much how I would talk to a friend TBH, seems to me he was trying to actually help Jezza by getting to the bottom of why he didn't get the best out of his stick.

But who am I and what do I know.... It's not really my place to get in the middle of it anyway.

Trouble is I had an 'off phase' from Cigars so I have some good aged stock but its limited and everything else is quite young.
Starting to appreciate aged much more...

Might have to look for some aged sticks to buy to smoke sooner...

Yeah, it kind of puts you into a position where you have to buy twice. Buying aged to smoke and young to age.

i'm quite the firm believer in 'you don't have the right to NOT be offended'. but the issue lies with the context. Rascal, i'd love to still have you around to provide a blunt view of what the situation is in your mind. and no one is doubting your expertise. i'm pretty damn sure you know that cigars are and most people would agree with me on that part.

but keep in mind the context of a 'cigar forum' and 'internet'. bluntness is often taken as rudeness and glee is taken as ridiculous. mix the two (like we did early) and it was obviously a recipe for extensive misunderstandings. and i'm pretty sure everyone here would get along in person... But via internet, it's quite hard to convey your meanings with all the implicit signs us humans invariably pick up. Shame really. that's the reason why political discussion is banned, i guess.... alas i digress

it'd be nice to still have you around. and judging by that little fact your brought up on the RyJ Panetela box split, you were able to educate without being rude, at all! you brought up the facts that some of us (blinded by glee) weren't able to see. then still managed to brave through my "nonsensical wordings" and bring spirits up afterwards!

My experiences (from which I try to learn)...

Misunderstandings are common on forum, such is plain text.

Quality forum discussion can take many forms: heated, blunt elegant, reasoned, spontaneous, considered, educated, humerus, abstract etc...
...with only one real requirement, that is core respect for the value of debate. This means no personal comments (unless clearly in jest, smiley etc).
