Unusual. The first time I have had to ditch a cigar in the last third due to it becoming overwhelmingly strong. It is from a 25 box purchased from Cgars and I have never known it before. I've had 15 or so from the box. Has anyone else encountered a big variation in strength across cigars from the same box? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts guys...

Been to work today but my wife is working late so I decided a Trini Reyes would satisfy the urge for something small. Sorry guys (sacrilege alert) but I didn't like it. The sweetest wrapper I've smelt on a Cuban but slightly astringent and herby to start with until it settled down to a smooth woody smoke and just didn't rock my boat.
It may need a bit of age or rest. The first one I had was great - really earthy. However, I then had one from quite a young box and it was similar to your experience, bitter and unpleasant. I put it down to youth and lack of time in the humi.
Had a H Upmann HC driving home after a bloody long day, thrown a San Cristobal La Punta in the car to smoke as soon as I get the chance so I can decide whether to grab a box, first single I tried was incredible.

I've just ordered a San Cristobal to try based on your last one.
