Something very nice tonight. My first Upmann Sir Winston from a box I bought in Cuba. Was a bit upset when I got back as found them quite dry, but after a few months they have their spring back and are oily again. Tasting damn fine too, very happy.

The wind was howling and the rain was pissing down but my new tyre came in at ?70 fitted so I celebrated with a Drew Estate Legends Copper Label that Simon (Trickle) very generously added in with a trade we did. Thanks a lot Simon, now I need to find some more!

Some pics from the weekly herf last night. I had a Juan Lopez No.1. We got quite the snow yesterday and so the smoking had to be cut short to get home safely. I had a panoramic shot of the bar but had some trouble loading it up.

The local that puts on the herf would be tickled if they could average about 130 a week. When it gets warmer I think this is a totally reasonable number. Also the bar does an excellent job on the nights we are there. It is hard to beat $8 domestic buckets (5 bottles) of beer and 1/2 price appetizers. In fact if any of you make it to the area and have a free Tuesday night consider this an invitation. As for the low prices....well we complain about them here. Most of us can't fathom UK prices. Then again I suppose it is hard for people in the UK to fathom having to declare insolvency because they got sick or injured and had to be in hospital for a week or two. I can remember paying 68 cents for a gallon of gas and now it is 3.XX per gal. Just a note, I believe the US Galllon is 80% the size of an Imperial gallon, still make theirs a lot cheaper of ourse. Fracking is now producing so much oil in the States they are able to keep the price low. Big political pressure in the States to keep fuel low, not just for driving but heating fuel, many more Americans rely on oil to heat their houses thorugh long & snowy winters.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.
