Yes, I had a Por Larranaga Petit Corona - it was okay.

Was it quite fresh? I've only ever smoked young 'uns myself a few years ago and didn't think much of them. Recently I've been hearing that these need about 5 years to come good. I've a few singles in the cabinet that I'm not going to touch for a good while.

I would think so based on the comments my review attracted. Buying singles by mail order means no dates generally.

Generally. But pen them down between 6m and 1y.
I've always found it that way with all those sticks that are singled. Never anything younger than 6 months and only certain vitolas that are every older than 1 year
Online retailers are always selling and buying their inventory so you almost never get aged stock.
Except a few of the ones I know

Is that monkey running around telling you to age sticks you don't need to again?! but seriously: they're pretty damn good with no age. And unless you really love Por larranga's flavor profile, there are much better things to age out there
but heyy, who knows? With their price, the only thing you have to worry about isn't the cost of them but the room in your humidor!
