I had to post today to sort out the bloody dates if nothing else. That said it turned out to be a double disappointment as MarkLondon couldn't join me because his daughter was ill and then the Perdomo robusto I decided to try disintegrated on me. I had planned to chill with something I knew would be good but as I was on my now went for one to review instead, mistake!

The lil one is asleep....so....Gonna try and fit in a cheeky Quorum Shade robusto, and a drop of southern comfort which I haven't paired with a smoke yet. IMG-20131208-00843.jpg

Love the southern comfort, but for me it's just that bit too dominant to pair with a cigar.... It would have to be one heck of a strong cigar to cut though.

If you want something along the same lines but toned down enough for a good match with cigars, I can recommend Drambuie. On the other hand and I'm sure I have said it before, if your in the mood for a honey whisky liqueur then you can't go wrong mixing it yourself. Get a good quality honey (Asian shops often have one called hasb@l, which is cheap and vgood) and mix it to your taste with your whisky of choice.

In the end...I went for a nice coffee with a drop of Baileys in. Kept me warm too leaning out my julien balcony haha.
I've never been a whiskey drinker, but now I think I need to pair it with some sticks. Thanks for the ideas mate.
Primarily I'm a rum drinker, slowly trying different types.

It could be said that CC's were born to be paired with rum, so no bad thing there.

Now Bailey's coffee.... Mmmmm really good choice IMO.

Hoyo De Monterrey Grande Epicure 2013 Limitada.

Some of you asked me to try the Hoyo De Monterrey Grande Epicure 2013 Limitada when I acquired them a few weeks ago. All this time I have been trying not to think about them, the smell, the colour of the wrapper the feel and so on. Today I succumbed. I switched the outside heater on full, wrapped up really warm, large mug of Espresso and fired up the gorgeous Hoyo. From the start the flavours started evolving and developing, powerful but smooth, never harsh. Large blue clouds of smoke filling the garden. It just got better and more complex right to the end. The taste of mature mellow tobacco leaf making this one of the best cigars I have smoked for some time, right up there with the top Cohibas. Bearing in mind this is a JUN 13 box, what it would be like in a couple of years can only be imagined, if they last that long. IF you haven't got any, I would strongly recommend you get some.

You make that hoyo sound tempting, GFK.

Another Monty 5 in the shed for me, just right for this weather, long Enough to be worth it but not so long that the cold gets to me!
