One of the things about working shifts is that I often have weekdays off whilst my wife is at work so I can enjoy my continued exploration of the world of cigars. I don't have a (pinch) Punch for the first of the month so today it was 55 minutes of mild enjoyment in the garden with a Quorum Robusto.

      Todays smoke.

A mate over on CA worried me, reporting that he had one or two so-so or iffy RC recently and wondered if quality had dropped or if they had gone of the boil a bit.

Flavourwise this one was brilliant (Miles better than the RyJ SC I smoked the other day, but I would say that as I much prefer the Boli anyway) .... but only till about halfway when it began to 'choke'. I was pulling four or five times just to get some (very thin) smoke .... there were no hard spots, so checking BBC Weather site afterwards, the Humidity outside this afternoon was 96% with a mist forming .... no wonder the poor cigar was struggling!

      Otherwise, Boli Tubos still rock!

Another Macanudo 68 double robusto for me - about half way through the box and enjoy these every single time. Creamy flavours as always…lovely.

Short story for me,been looking forward to one of these for some time, the vitola feels great in the hand and the foot lit great, burn and draw are fantastic and ash holds like a good un',loads of smoke, taste is one dimensional but pleasant, fairly woody, nice nicotine hit and deffo will be a regular inhabitant of the humi,I'm a fairly slow smoker, looks like it will see me for 45 mins to nub level :-)

Started the evening with a (sadly)very bland Partagas Presidente....I smoked a few of these a few years ago and was unimpressed so I thought I'd retry them to see if current production was any better but it was quite ...meh

Now smoking a cracking Monte 520

Tell me about it Dean, comes with living on the coast and will get worse when the central heating goes on all day.

It's 95% this morning, but should reduce as I can see a bit of sun which made no appearance at all yesterday.

Go to your Google/Yahoo search bar .... tap in Humidity followed by your PostCode .... info from all local UK weather stations is updated every 40 minutes .... the results can be scarey!

Yes, when it gets that humid and on a falling temperature I've seen cigars visibly bulge behind the burn line, then as they choke, and you try puffing harder and dragging in more moisture, the wrapper bursts .... sometimes the binder too.
