I have had some Partagas D4s sitting in the coolidor since Feb, I smoked one when they arrived and was nearly sick, however since that time they have settled nicely and this D4 I have on the go is great. They say the D4 has a sic period? they have got better, will leave the rest for another few months before trying again.

cj, unsure about what it was? however on the 2 third, felt quesy and mouth watering had to stop? strange taste? No such issues with this smoke fantastic, loving it.I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:

TJ's RULE No. 107
"In general, freshly rolled puros can be enjoyed within the first 40 days, but should rest for a year after that to allow them to get over the so called 'sick period."
As a rule, TJ never smokes a puro with less than a year on it.
But what the hell does he know!!!! TJ won't even draft his own posts.
Adios, Muchachos.
We are the Coros and TJ's off with that Mu'va Fu ing brujo don Juan again!!!sigpicVaya con Dios, Amigos! - don TJ and the Coros

Reyes
Trinidad Reye this morning, my first ever Trinidad.
Thanks to Daverave for posting them up.Great little cigar with a fantastic aroma and a real subtle taste, very enjoyable indeed and I would now like to try the other vitolas in the range.Ideal little smoke for the morning.
Been a While since i`ve smoked something of this size but I was impressed."Keep your eyes peeled, your arse up, head down, and your ear to the gound" WHISKY77

HdM PR mini-review
I had a Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto in what was left of the summer after work. I've had unpleasant experiences in the past with them so got a 3-pack to give 'em one last try. The first one of them was none too impressive so I left the other two in the humi for a while. The wrappers seemed to have darkened since then which surprised me, so I picked out the darkest.
Excellent construction, but the wrapper is a little delicate. Good draw, a little resistance-just right for my tastes. Minor burn issues but they self-corrected.
Had a glass of Canada Dry with it. Started out like cookies and cream, with a hint of biscuit which grew stronger throughout. About halfway through I got something familiar kick in, not sure but maybe leather?
Got more peppery in the last inch, which was a good time to stop as it was getting a bit chilly without a shirt.
I'm looking forward to the final one of the pack, but I'm going to give it a few more months.

But let me offer as a close second and always a staple in my humi -the San Crisitobal de la Habana Principe. And let's not forget the fabulous Cohibo Maduro Secreto. Both excellent Petit....errr, I mean small puros that are excellent morning smokes along side a cup of joe.
Names TJ, TJCoro, and I love the little puros.

I'll go with the SC Principe principle there TJ. Bought a brace in Belgium and whilst the first one smoked was in need of some R&R in the humi, lots of potential noticed and the second is nestling away nicely. Probably going to extracate it this weekend."Go you good things...geddem int'ya"
