I have no idea.
I have had 3, 1 from cigar-club, was perfect, and 2 from cgars, both the cgars one were the bad ones...but I presume thats by the by. I asked cigar-club after purchase but didn't let me know and never bothered asking cgars.
I have smoked them essentially as soon as they were delivered, but am going to try to store them for a while first at a 65%rh and see if that improves matters. Disappointed though as they were my favourite up to now, but I will see how things develop with them.
I smoked them both, but they were definitely not as they should be

I would always advise 2-3 weeks in the desktop minimum. cigars (for some unknown reason) often suffer travel sickness.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

Ahh thank you very much for that.
Yes I am starting to look to storing rather than smoking lol I read something which said when you start with cubans, you should not smoke them until you have aged for 3 years... Obviously that won't apply to the dip 1 but it did reinforce the message that they need to be treated differently to other things I have smoked.
Now I am set up with tupperdors and a humidor I can start to build up a rolling stock for the years to come.
Can I ask though, what RH do you like your dip 1's to be at ready for smoking?

Late entry; got into St Pancreas station at 0900. Had to get through Immigration & outside to the Post Office across the road to post the Partagas book & some smokes for the runner up. Managed that, feeling much lighter after some hefty postal charges nipped into Costas for a large americano & then as the sun is no longer in position to shine on the front where I smoked last time, I went into the Kings Cross Station frontage which was mostly protected from the wind & had 20mins for a quickie. Lit up my first RG Perla. Someone was mention these the other day & I happended to see a box in Mr Franks on Wed & decided to try one (they never used to supply RG to Belgie). At E4 it's overpriced. It felt decidedly spongy, bit over humidified but underfiled too. It had the RG taste profile but it was not very impressive. It did last 20mins & no more so I was just in time to catch my Aberdeen train & finish my coffee in the first class (East Coast supply free food & alcoholic drinks so when travelling so far, it's a bargin if you book far enough ahead).
I would buy a box of these from Spain to give them a proper test but I don't think on inital impressions they would be worth the extra cost over the Panatela Extra, which is nearly half the price. The black spot is a problem with my old camera & not a fault of the cigar!Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.
