In the early hours of this morning I smoked an alec bradley prensado churchill.
I sampled one of these a few months ago and was very disappointed, it seems overly spicy, rough and gritty (leaving a horrible after taste) the burn was also terribly uneven.
I decided to try again but this time giving it 2 months to sit in the humidor, the results were fantastic - what a difference! I got lots of smooth coffee with hints of chocolate, no dirty peppery after taste and the burn was second to none.
Glad to hear the second trip around the block was enjoyable. I had a robusto about six months ago and was seriously underwhelmed. Given your experience, I may be tempted to grab another some time and let it rest up in the lurve nest before having another go. Their reviews read well, and not unlike your experience today, so perhaps we have both had an off day/stick to previously measure by.
'07 boli gold medal. Noticably stronger than my last one a year ago. Starting to show some real quality.
Middle half was very good. Some dark/stewed fruit and coffee/leather. All along with a mellow, elegant backdrop. On this showing I would suggest these probably can get better for the next 5-10 years at least.
Overall a very pleasant surprise.

Good to know. I think ol' don TJ has a few 07s resting about in his massive unit. Don't think they'll make it another five or so years, as you suggest.
