Fired up a Cain Straight Ligero (Habano) this evening. It's been resting in the lurve nest with its NC cousins for almost three years and having read decent reviews I was hoping for good things. Had to repair the cap last week and that was a fair job
Well the smoke was, I'd say average. Big in strength as you'd imagine, but I felt the flavour was lacking any real width or breadth: complexity if you like.
Approaching the last third I started to get bored tbh, and found myself smoking a bit quick. This didn't do it any favours, and impaired any flavours that were fighting to get through. Btw, I purge all my smokes a few times. So I made a conscious effort to slow down and the last third did improve in profile somewhat. Great firm ash all the way through...
Although I really wanted to like this cigar, my experience was overall a bit dull and I was left wanting more."Go you good things...geddem int'ya"
