I got it from JJ Fox a few weeks ago; to be honest I went in to get a RASS after reading a lot of good things about it but picked up the wrong cigar (obviously day dreaming too much in my browsing!). I only realised the other day when I measured it and it was over 5 inches long, and sure enough the receipt does say Petit Corona!
Really? I thought they were long discontinued....hopefully they have some left
Lovely little Davidoff 1000 and half a bottle of chilled Chardonnay in the garden after a Lions win and and afternoon playing Dad's vs Sons cricket, (Dad's won!). Today was a very good day.
Had a superb opus x Forbidden I picked up in Vegas at the start of the year. Best NC I've had. Very smooth and creamy. Only bitter in the very last part of the final third. It's a shame I don't think you can get them over here, by I haven't looked very hard.
They've none on their website so maybe I'll send them an email.....
They never seem to have their aged cigars on the website (at least I can never find them), which is why I always get worried that I'm making a terrible mistake whenever I get an aged cigar (and especially in this case when I didn't realise I was!), but the measurements do match up to the details on the Cuban Cigar Website for the RA Petit Corona. I made sure of that before posting!
As I understand it, from talking to the chaps in the store, the web-store and 'B&M' are run pretty much as separate entities.
I've been cheeky and added a second cigar to today's roster. As the evening drew in (or, more accurately, as the night drew in), I set an RyJ Cedros de Luxe No3 on the go. I had a good friend round for dinner - he's let somewhat on his own in Cirencester at the moment and had been eventing all day, so needed to unwind. After I served up my carbonara - no cream, of course - and we'd been drinking for some time, I thought we should get some cigars on the go. The chimenea was going nicely, so we were set in for a while - it only seemed right. I gave him an H.Upmann Half Corona (as I had earlier), which he loved, and I had my RyJ was jolly good too. Good day.
It's bloody roasting here in Perthshire.. So much so that having to sit in the shade!
Thought I'd crack open a box of March 2000 H Upmann No 1 that I found in Andorra last year....I wasn't expecting much strength but I was completely wrong. What a strong yet refined smoke this is. A lot of pepper and spicy notes too....lovely
Eh StevieBoy, cracking cigar holder!
