How nice was that? In the sun dappled garden with family, sharing cider and wine, with a very pleasing RASS.
We may mot get many good days but the sparsity of them makes them all the more fabulous.
Pan fried chicken with chips now.

That sounds like a great start to the week. Top marks.

Alec Bradley Nica Puro for me tonight.
First time I have had one and its tastey. Intense pepper when lighting and then mellows down. Lots of smoke with a great aroma. If I were a seasoned pro I would hope to describe the flavours but I will be honest and say i'm not too sure.

Had to relight 4 bloody times. (Cause of the wind and all. This is something new with a robusto, for me anyways) this time it's not as annoying because every relight had tastes of honey.
Overall medium-full body for the entire cigar. And the final third was quite pleasant (as per the unwritten robusto rule).

Cohiba robusto over this D4 though. Probably won't buy again anytime soon. But it's MOST LIKELY cause of my personal dislike of partagas. Even the P2 was "meh" for me.......

Dispite my bias, I hope this was helpful!!

                        Regards,
                        Jeremy.

What are Rocky Patel cigars like? Is there an event coming up at Fox's involving these cigars? Anyone know anything more about this event?

Coincidentally I'm sitting in the garden smoking a Partagas D4 too so thought I would throw my opinion into the ring.

I bought a couple to try recently (box date 2005) and smoked my first a couple of days ago. My impression of the 1st was very good - Stonking good cigar in fact, lots of fragrant smoke, dark chocolate and that peppery taste I love all the way through. It went out with about a third to go however and as I'd had enough by then I didn't re-light, but I was keen to see how I felt after the second so made time tonight.

65 minutes in and I'm loving it. Strangely this one also went out at about the same stage (seemed to be fine and then just died) but this time I re-lit and the final third seems so far much mellower than the first two thirds (or maybe it's just that I've had a couple more glasses of scotch this evening). Anyway, this is one cigar I will be buying more of

and to echo comments made earlier - maybe it's the fact that there haven't been too many nice days so far this year, but sitting out here with this D4 and a large glass of Jura Origin makes the day I've had seem (almost) worthwhile.

Ah, perfect. I'm not the only one with this problem then
It really isn't the problem; I find the relights are RIDICULOUSLY smooth and sweet. I like relighting them to some certain extent. the unfortunate problem I find with them is the fact that they are partagas. I have had 3 (this one being the 4th) and I really don't like em........ Afraid to tryy more.

I have 5 coming in from Cuba on the 7th (I'll post my others when I get em CAN'T WAIT!!) and I REALLY regret getting the 5x D Tubos...... That sucks for me. But ah well, I'll deal...
