Without seeming too "old fartish' ...you young men are smoking your cigars way too fast...I've smoked several Open Juniors & hundreds, maybe thousands of cigars at this size & never smoked one in 20 mins...& I'm a relatively quick smoker on all gauges...
Don't take my word for it, ask around..I'm sure the guys here will back me up...you're destroying the cigars by overheating..god knows how you enjoy any off them.. I know it's each to his own ..but when I read things like this & Butternuts 10 seconds between puffs, I just think it's BS...
No offence intended (obligatory smiley) but it put's me off taking you seriously...
I was going to query that as a typo initially. I then thought that perhaps fordi only smoked half of the cigar? I don't think I could power herf like that...I'd feel sick within 5 minutes!I'd expect a monte open junior to go for 40 minutes at least?
Loads of us do, it's very dependent on what the individual can handle..some have to eat before smoking..some always have a drink, alcoholic or soft whilst smoking..but I should think everyone's needed a lie down at some point...
Closest I came was with a Rodrigo Forteleza that Arf sent me..he warned me it was strong...so I chugged it like a lunatic...whoa!..

Ah geez, don't take offense to me mate . Remember, that was only for like the last third. The first and second third of the Siglo III took me a good 45- one hour itself. Most of the time, i use cigars as a relaxant (just a good hour or two to clear my head as i'm doing nothing stressful whilst smoking), so i try to stretch it out the stick as long as humanely possible.
But then again, some people do use cigars as a quick smoke 'cause of our work a day workstyle. I always find myself hunting for short cigars because I only have 45 minutes or an hour to smoke something. and i personally do NOT want to do the whole 10 second draw for the entire cigar..........

Never worry about that, I'm not easily offended.
It was around 25 mins and didn't seem to burn hot. (I had been to the pub and a few glasses of wine at home so my timing could possibly be excused). I can never really taste the different elements in cigars and that's probably why? I'm glad you mentioned it otherwise you don't realise. I am a newbie to the crackin world of cigars so forums like this are just the ticket for me. I don't always have a drink but will do.
I think my smoking speed stems from cigarettes. My studio partner has a set of Hoover lungs so smoking with him is quick and that's why I must appear to rush cigars.

I imagine that people who have smoked cigarettes and also smoke cigars often rush a little fordi. A pace of between 30-60 seconds between draws hits the spot for me...and as an added bonus, the cigar lasts for longer!

I don't think its just the length between draws that cigarette smokers have trouble with, as an ex smoker (I quit over four years ago) who has very recently started smoking cigars I can say that fighting the reflex to take the smoke into your lungs is just as hard - I'm only just starting to get used to not doing it! 😄
Congrats on quitting cigarettes, I know from my brother how difficult it can be. I've smoked a couple sticks with my brother in the past, who will occasionally burst into a coughing fit due to inhaling the smoke into his lungs! Seems like quite a nasty experience.
