Splendid afternoon at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Some very good and interesting bands performing (Norwegian jazz seems to be a particularly dark genre, and rather 'cool' in a Scandi way). Plenty of G&Ts were flowing - with Sipsmith Gin and Fever Tree Tonic. Managed to sneak in a cheeky little RyJ Cedros No2 whilst I was at it too. Not half-bad at all.

It was my girlfriend's graduation ball last night, I made an off the cuff comment about smoking a cigar before the event to the guy who's floor we were sleeping on. Unfortunatly the local tobacconist (my smoking shop) closed at 1pm and it was now 4:30. Que driving round preston for cigars, we ended up in the newsagents next to the station. The only sensible option was a tubed punch petit coronation. I had no cutter with me so had to cut the cap with a pen knife (luckily a sharp one). The draw was tight, but I put that down to it being a little dry as it would ease up then tighten again and the cut being a bit poor.
I was a little drunk so won't review it as such. But it was a nice 40 minute interlude after dinner and made an a focal point for people to comment and admire (I was expecting criticism).
