Partagas Lusitanias from 1999. Have never smoked one with this many years on it before. Starting off with mild espresso. Construction is spot on.

JL#1 ...bought these as singles so no idea on box code, but tightish draw followed by comedy explosion halfway

Back on track, but rather be smoking Ethems RA Petit Belicosos right now! Reckon these are far more unpredictable than the #2!

And I'd rather be sitting in the south west of France lol. But on my way to Devon the traffic news reminded me why we hadn't done so. A 3 hour queue to the eurotunnel this afternoon.

As seems to be an all too regular occurrence for me, I have been without cigars for too long now! (The little get together at No10 before Christmas was my last one I think! )

Until this evening... Got the place to myself for a few days, so don't have to contemplate braving the Baltic conditions outside... Put on a Tony Bennett CD, poured a glass of Scotch and lit up a Montecristo No2. Heaven. This is a cigar which Simon kindly gifted me back when Thatcher was still PM... Thank you very much kind sir, it tasted wonderful! And, as requested all that time ago, I'll write up a review of my thoughts. As a couple of guys know, I have an embarrassing admission to make on this one - it was my first Monte No2 ever. I think I'll have to try a few more now.

Wow! I was begining to think you'd never get around to that stick! So glad that you found the perfect stick & it didn't let you down (that really would have been a big disappointment), looking fwd to your review.

Haha, it has certainly taken me longer than I woud have liked to find the perfect moment for it. Thank you once again Simon, it was very kind of you, and I was really rather pleasantly surprised (apart from the PE and Sublimes I've generally been a bit disappointed by Montecristos). I shall be writing up the review the evening.
