Late afternoon saw a San Miguel accompanying a RASS. I can't remember the date on these, but they were at least '09. From the second toke in, we were in business. A great smoke
Last night was with the bro in laws, eldest had a CT Reserva Selecta, younger had a cigarhut houseblend and I had an amazing Tatuaje Wolfman! awesome with a lagavulin 18yr IMG_2054.jpg
All I'm saying...ice in an 18yr???? Lagavulin IMHO, questionable...dash of water maybe!....
If by 18yr old you mean the Cadenhead bottlings then ice is a complete No No @64.6...
If you referring to the 1979 distillers edition I'd love to see a picture as I've been trying to find a bottle for the last ten years......

sorry Puff, i was misinformed, it was actually the 16yr, not the 18. the middle tumbler is mine, there is no ice in that, i assure you! i always have it neat, but the bro in laws decided that they needed a cooler drink in the 35 degree night . to me, its worth the sacrifice. ice makes it burn i reckon

No worries Alex..I was just incredibly jealous...ten + years looking for a bottle 'n' somebodies lobbing ice in it...I nearly cried!
Ice stops a huge amount of the phenols releasing & won't enhance any whisky IMHO...
Carry on supping & have a very Merry Christmas...
Puff..currently enjoying a batch 15 Aberlour A'bunadh & 18 yr old Monte 2....

This is the time of year for jealously it seems... Batch 15 A'bunadh, very nice. Bought myself a bottle of Batch 41 for Christmas (well, no-one else was going to!)
Currently having a quick respite from cooking dinner at my parents' - my mother broke her shoulder yesterday, passing the chef de turkey responsibilities to me... The lengths some people will go to in order to avoid cooking Christmas dinner! Sadly I am having to settle with 'Floyding it Up' (i.e. drinking copious quantities of Buck's Fizz and Champagne during the cooking process). Then whisky later. Sadly no cigars for me today.

I'm in the same boat as you, Simon. The boss lady decided that she didn't feel confident in cooking the duck so asked me to take charge. So, chained to the kitchen I produced Christmas dinner for 6pm. In the meantime, she who must be obeyed got sozzled with our guests. After dinner a decree was posted that there will be no cigar or pipe smoking on Christmas day. Isn't democracy a wonderful thing ? Bottom line - no cigars today !
