Bit of a summer renaissance down here today.

Little El Rey Demi Tasse to start me off for the weekend.

Very pleasant way to spend a half hour.

Had a Monte 4 in the morning and a R&J Cedro in the afternoon. What a lovely day.

Deano whats your opinion on the Monte 4?

I'm also making the most of the sunny weather - kicking off the weekend with a Monte Petit Edmundo in the garden.

Dherm - I've had a few, and they've all been nice, but not enough to form an opinion. I know they're majorly well thought of. I really should get a box at some point, but always end up getting something else.

Also smoking an ugly but damn tasty Monte 4. When theyre on they are great, typical monte coffee and cream, but construction can be an issue. One of the best cigars I've had was a single I picked up in Spain. Grabbed another from the same shop (and the same box) 2 days later and it was almost unsmokeable

+1. I've had some lovely Monte 4s and some really awful ones. When they're good they're very good, but they are very inconsistent so I tend to be a bit wary of buying them.

Ventured to my local merchants and decided to try a Macanudo Rothschild 1968. A few minutes in and not quite sure what to make of it. First five or so puffs were terrible, but is smoothing out. Draw is brilliant.

Plenty of Monte 4 action today!

Trying my first Upmann Royal Robusto this evening. My youngest production Cuban ever at just 4 months off the rollers table, it's rather good but no doubt will get better with some additional time on it...

Hah, it was from my Yeti bomb too! Some real nice sticks in there, had a Carlos Torano Exodus from him the other day, smooth as anything!
