Grrrrr all this talk of Cigars. For some reason they have banned cigars here in Abu Dhabi during Ramadan as they are classed as entertainment.......however I have tracked somewhere down......Hemmingways bar at the Hilton has a Cigar lounge which is open and sells drings too, so today is our Friday here, so i'm going to go and buy something nice, maybe a Trini Robusto which i've been meaning to try and have it tonight

Didn't have a chance to be honest, but I sure will on the way back home Going to check out La Casa Del Habano tonight, it's titchy tiny but looks quite well stocked, fancy getting some HDM short Robustos or some PSDN5 or Trini Reyes (which i've never had) we shall see.

Yes to the HDM PR (fave general production smoke for a while) and the Trini, you might want to try a PSDN5 before you buy any number... Might just be me, or I might be unlucky, but bought ten, smoked one, and it was vile... Resting for long term in the hope miracles do happen!

I've had a busy week so not much time to smoke unfortunately, but I made time this afternoon to have my first ever Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve.

It was a decent enough smoke with good construction, but I found the flavours a bit muted compared to the Edge and the 1990 series. Still a good way to spend an hour and a half though.

I've no idea why but there seems to be a photo of a Nub I smoked last week attached to my last post?! I can't seem to get rid of it. Just in case you were wondering my RP didn't magically turn into a Nub while I was smoking it!

I met up with Sludgie for the first time last night for a mini Herf. We met at the Three Acres in Emley who have a cigar friendly outside area. Thanks to his generosity I tried two sticks I haven't had before:
Partagas Serie E No.2 followed by an RyJ Wide Churchill.
Then to top it off he presented me with a Punch Double Corona to take away and smoke later - by this time it was after 11pm and he probably gave it to me to get me to finally go home which I did.

I enjoyed both of the sticks I smoked and will be looking to get some of the Wide Churchills soon.

I also made notes for the future based on smoking those two back to back:
                    1. You need to put plenty of time aside for them - best part of 4 hours in total,
                    2. I'll not be smoking much for a few days - I can still taste them,
                    3. Sludgie is a top bloke, I donated a stick to him buit it was nothing by comparison,
                    4. Getting home at half past 11 on a Wednesday night makes work on Thursday morning difficult to face, thankfully I only drank coke or I'd have looked like Droopy D this morning.

I'm hoping to repay his generosity next time we meet up by taking some malt whisky that he might not have tried.
