LA GLORIA CUBANA - EXCLUSIVO REINO UNIDO





This was a spectacular 90+ minutes' smoke - and my first ever La Gloria.

My laptop is being a biatch, so I'll post this quickly and write some thoughts about this beaut after my machine has cooled down and starts to behave herself.

I gave that gratis Marrakesh Churchill a go this evening (from the walk). It was ok, but didn't get me aroused though

This afternoon I spent a sweet half hour in the local pub garden, with a Fuente Hemmingway 'Short Story'. A lovely smoke. Must get some more.....

Keen to know about this one Bryan - I recently bought some Medaille d'Or #1 and really enjoyed them then I was gifted some Tainos and they're equally enjoyable. This is another one of those under-appreciated brands ? la Juan Lopez I think !?!?

Hemmingway's big brother.

If you like the Hemmingway - and I do as well - give it's big brother, don Carlos, a go sometime. I'm not very good at describing the nuances of stogies, but I think you will find this one a nice stick as well.

A Day Off For Habanas.

Today has been a day for n/cs. My second stogie of the day is the CAO Black -Mosaic from a numbered box. I haven't smoked one of these in awhile, but it's well constructed with a very nice chocolate-brown wrapper, a good burn, peppery taste, medium bodied, quality smoke. For a n/c, it ain't too bad.

So far, the Marrakesh Churchill has received one and one .
Anyone else from the Walk smoke this stogie yet? If so, what did you think? I will give mine a go this weekend and weigh in then.

Scores highly on every usual stogieman's measure, men. Recommended!

My taste is for strong cigars, and this stick is in the tasty-medium range. For me, it's not one of the gum-smacking Hit Squad cigars.

Nevertheless, I would happily relax again for a good stretch with one of these in a similar way to the joy I get from a Hoyo Epicure No2.

The pre-draw was 100% Cuban tobacco taste, and remarkably sweet. In the smoking, it remained sweet but not cloyingly so. It was softly nut-like.

I'm becoming a fan of punch-cutting my cigars. I'm sure it concentrates the flavour.

I will definitely try more la Gloria Cubanas again. If I smoke a mild-ish cigar, I want one with full, consistent taste. This babe had all that, and the taste is still fairly and squarely in my mouth after a full meal and some four or five hours later.

I'd buy stronger sticks first, but this milder strength coupled to great taste keeps me very happy, too.

Floral sweetness is what defines these cigars. As you say Bryan, mid-strength but tasty
