Just had my first ever Bolivar Petit Belicisos from 2009. I heard that they weren't up to much back when I bought them so laid them away for a few years
Verdict : Excellent!
That is great to hear, picked up a fiver of these when I was in Gib...
Sat smoking a fine 5-6 year old Cohiba Robusto very generously gifted in by Simon Bolivar to help me celebrate the birth of my son.
SB you are a true BOTL and thoroughly good chap! Thanks!
And... the verdict? Got 3 sat in my Humi as yet untouched...
It was a Very good smoke mate, incredibly smooth and without any hint that it was a young cigar, though the tobacco is aged for 2 years in all ELs I believe, very light in my mind, built to maybe a tad over medium at the end, biscuit, a bit of cream in the middle, some trademark Cohiba bean flavours, and a touch of spice on the retrohale that built up towards the end, maybe something like cumin?
Beautifully refined, I think if I were a fan of the Cohiba flavours this would be an amazing smoke, even being a complete non-fan of Cohiba in general it's a very good smoke, but the first inch or so were so light as to be lacking a bit, I'm glad I have a box as the only issues I had were a somewhat wayward burn and the flavours are a bit muddled, with age I have hope they will become more distinct.
Basically I think given the right time and place, wanting a more subtle smoke, and as said very refined and smooth, this would be perfect, I tend towards the slightly more 'in your face' flavours and smokes but still I'd give this a 92 or 93 (definitely watched too much foh) so for real fans of the brand and style you must be in the mid 90s, worth a flutter for one now and one or two over the years, but not worth the outlay for boxes to lay down, for me that is - odd given the mark you might say, but they are hugely expensive, I'd likely put down a box or three of GEs instead personally.
A Jose L. Piedra Petit Cazadores at a wedding yesterday. I did consider a Choix Supreme but wasn't sure how much time I'd have. In the event, I only got half way through the JLP.

Cheers Martin. Seems like a nice enough treat to have in the Humi.
