Went down to the cafe today, after writing my latest episode of my Falklands story; for some further research on dates ect & to smoke a special stick. Last year in Havana, I visited the Hotel Conde & brought a selection of house custom rolled cigars, today it was time to try the Salomones. When I brought them they had all been tight & firm as bullets so I waited paitently for them to dry a bit & although firm there was a slight give now.
cut & lit well & a wonderful aroma soon filled the Glass House (raining outside). The first third was rather spectacular & I enjoyed this the most. Even though I had clipped it minimally, the draw was a little easy until it burned past the end bulge but draw is a very individual thing & afterwards it was fine for me. It certianly proved well constructed, this would have been a bitch it it had been too tight a draw. I couldn't tie the flav to any other brand, it was unique but wonderfully Cuban.
The second third was fine & was really enjoying having chosen a larger stick today. The large third was a bit underdeveloped & the flav was muted, plently of strength left though. I think some more aging can only improve these further. Lasted 1hr 45 & 4 Stellas, a very pleasent way to spend a wet afternoon. Somebody on here told me afterwards, how they also loved this cigar & spent their holiday smoking them. If I'd have known that before hand I would have been happy buying 24 of these, rather than half a dozen of each size. Still to try the Prominete.
