Hoyo De Monterrey Petit Robusto May 2011
These little sticks are truly unbelievable, so those of you with 2010's don't worry about getting some 2011s as they are just lovely.
Start with lots of cream and chocolate, and the smoke is so sweet on the nose. Burn was pretty damn good too, not quite razor sharp but it's pretty windy out there and that usually plays havoc with my smoking, but no touch ups required at all, outstanding ash which would probably have held on for the whole time if I had let it - I did knock it off at about half way as I sometimes find the taste can end up a bit musty if I don't - After ashing that's about when a brilliant lightly spiced vanilla flavour came in as well...
Only downside was at the last quarter the wrapper did crack down one side but I put that down to it still being overhumidified from vendor storage, it did seem a bit spongy and I should probably have left it for a week or two more to acclimatise to the 65% I prefer.
Last few puffs were purely that spicey vanilla and dark chocolate, and the smell became a richer sweet honey, just beautiful.
Being so young these seem to have a bit more kick than the 2010's I've had but nothing serious.
If you haven't tried these yet you really should
