Hoyo De Monterrey - Petit Robusto - Kindly gifted to me in a swap with Andy (BigBoned)
I have to admit this is a brand I have almost completely ignored up till now, maybe one or two ever! Well that will have to change!
This is a perfectly constructed cigar, good and solid, almost stocky looking with a beautiful smooth wrapper, mid coloured not too light not too dark.
The draw is a bit looser than I tend to like but just meant I had to be a bit more careful, vast amounts of easy smoke to be had as long as you're gentle and don't overcook it.
First third was all cream, light wood and hints of chocolate, very very smooth.
This moved into some light spice in the second, a good bit of coffee, and still very creamy and delicious.
Final third (and I must admit I might have been rushing it a bit, cold and windy out!) and the wood became much more pronounced with light spices layering on the tongue, nothing heavy here, still creamy, smooth and so very very mellow.
Felt like my brain was getting massaged gently relaxing the week out of me from about halfway in especially and I wasn't even drinking with it!
The perfect way to end the week, even if it is friday tomorrow, I'll forget about that for now
It's a real shame there's no room in the humi at the moment but this heads straight to the top of the shopping list, and fantastic to find a brand I had for some reason written off is really worth investigating.
Thanks loads for this Andy, one hell of a stick!
