The Savoy Does Cigars Afterall

So then, there was disappointment when the Savoy confirmed that they were not creating any arrangements for cigars whilst they were refurbishing it (shame really, surely they could have done something overlooking the river?)

However, they do serve cigars after all... though in a slightly unorthodox manner in the Beaufort Bar:

But the signature cocktail ... is the Winston. Apparently inspired by Winston Churchill?s custom of dipping his cigar in Hennessy Cognac, the cocktail involves pouring Hennessy XO, blood orange pur?e, quince liqueur and vanilla syrup through a sieve containing a muddled Romeo y Julieta cigar.

Not sure I'll be giving it a go if I'm honest... especially at ?80 a pop. Think I'll stick with the Macallan 12yo for under a tenner.

Oops... Just realised that I had titled this thread incorrectly. We already knew that the Savoy did cocktails (it is the home of the American Bar afterall).

The one review of this cocktail that I have found seemed to suggest that it was quite nice. I shall reserve judgement... it doesn't sound terribly appealing though, so my judgement will probably be reserved forever.
