New arrival - Aberlour 10 year

Another one out - one in situation.

As I really like Aberlour Abunadh I thought I'd give the standard Aberlour bottling a try.



Very nice too; plenty of fruit and honey with a nice long finish where the sherry comes to the fore. 8/10

How does it compare to the a'bunadh

Obviously the first difference is the standard bottling of 40% in the Aberlour 10 against the cask strength of the A'bunadh, meaning the 10 year old has a considerably softer and more dilute taste, however as far as 'bang for your buc'k goes it's a lovely dram that delivers plenty of honey and dried dates on the palate and has a decent and surprisingly complex spiced finish. Always a good call to have one nestled in the whisky cabinet as the 10 y/o has easily accessible flavours and is extremely balanced (as a solid spey should be!) so is perfect for a guest looking for something simple and enjoyable.
