has anyone tried the cohiba or monticristo coffee
ive seen some at cgars is it just a gimmick playing on the name or is it good stuff?

Complete gimmick. No such thing as exported pre-roasted 'good stuff' when it comes to coffee.

Two great suppliers who roast fresh:
We source speciality coffee from around the world, supply to coffee shops and roast coffee to order on a constantly changing and seasonal schedule. Ozone - your ultimate coffee host.

For anything coffee related go to Monkey66, he is very knowledgeable on the topic indeed. While I can bore on the topic I will always defer to him.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

Couple of questions Giga, what is your brew method (filter/stovetop/espresso machine etc?) and what is you preferred type of coffee (black/white/fruity/strong/mellow etc). Let me know and I should be able to come up with a couple of suggestions.

I have a Jura bean to cup and usually make espresso or use this to make cappuccino.
I tend to like anything with a dark roast, strong and I like the acidity you get with Ethiopian and cuban coffee.

Had a look and quite fancy the espresso starter pack so see what the coffee is like.

Try a few, I like their JailBreak blend as a goto and the Brazilian Perfeto can be really good. Be aware that they roast to order so you must wait 4-5 days from the roast date (printed on the label) before use or else it really won't be nice.

I fancy trying a few of these coffee's as well, never really got interested in the past, what would your recommendations be for occasional home use regarding preparation I have a cafetiere that was bought many years ago but never used, or would an alternate method give better results?

                        Regards

                        Simon

I'm interested in suggestions too! Got myself an Aeropress the other day and it's totally changed my view on coffee. I generally buy Columbian but would certainly like to try good examples of different styles.

yup, those 4 days are essential, otherwise it will taste poo! Try a different type each time and you will soon find your preference.
