If I'm having to stay up late, I love a good Monte 2 or Espi with a double espresso sweetened with a a good dash of Havana Club. Absolute heaven

The coffee and rum is very more'ish, so don't try this if you plan on sleeping withing the next 12 hours

I've got a few favourite drinks that I find go with certain cigars, but I've not tried coffee with it yet. I've only got a percolator and that makes it too strong to go with a cigar I think.

Interesting to read different botl's views on what they prefer to drink with a cigar, but also what they prefer not to drink.

I quite enjoy a glass or two of strong red wine with a cigar, usually from the new World such as a South African Pinotage or Pinot Noir. I find the richness of the grape variety from SA compliments a complex cigar.

On the flip side of things, I also like a Diet Pepsi with a cigar, not exactly sure why???

I do not drink coffee so that rules that out, but never tried having a tea at the same time, will need to give it a bash and see how it is.

The far distance ! It just seems to magically disappear for the time I pair the two together.

I love a mug of black Lintong Java (two sweeteners) with a good cigar. It's like they are made for each other!

9 times out of 10 I'll drink coffee with my cigar, over the last year I seemed to have slowed down on the booze and hardly touch it now.
As I love a cup of good coffee it kind of suits me. Although I do wonder sometimes what I might be missing with wines or spirits.

Coffee for me certainly enhances the cigar taste, aroma and overall experience. A freshly grounded Columbian or Kenyan goes pretty well with a good cigar. I think it is because of the similarities in their taste. They just compliment each other.

I agree about the alcohol as it can dumb down the palette, though it would depend on the alcohol! A nice single malt can do wonders for one's tongue.

I find that the stronger cigars go excellently with a good cup of coffee. I'll often have a Bolivar or Partagas with an espresso or French press of a fairly strong (dark roast) bean.

On the other hand, the lighter or more complex cigars can be overwhelmed. So the Trinidads and HdM's seem to be muffled by the coffee flavors and get lost in the mix.

The H. Upmann would go well with a medium bodied coffee. But, all in all, I'd call cigars and coffee a dynamic duo.

I have my first Java chip frappe from starbucks on sunday, with a Monte Sublime, again my first, the two went very well together.

Even drinking instant, which i know isnt great but i dont always have the time to make real, i find enchances almost any cigar. One pairing i have found that works really well is the Nespresso Roma served as an espresso with a Nub cameroon.

These are great suggestions. I am going to try some this summer...

That's funny because I have had tea with cigars on a number of occasions and for some reason I always feel as satisfied as I do when pairing with coffee!

But the best cigar experiences I have are exclusively with scotch. That trumps every beverage when smoking.

I think you'd be surprised how many people think that coffee is the perfect accompaniment to a cigar.

I'm not a coffee fan but I always have tea with cigars. I don't think cigars and any kind of alcohol go together particularly well at all. When Nic, Bryan and myself had a day out doing nothing but cigars I think we got through enough tea to drown an elephant.
