An interesting way to drink bourbon

I was told to try this with Woodford Reserve, but I'm sure it will work well with other bourbons too.

Tonight I enjoyed a Nub maduro with this drink:

1 split vanilla bean in the bottom of the glass
ice
1 cherry
Woodford Reserve bourbon.

It was a very tasty drink I must say! The cigar wasn't bad either.

Usually cherry coke is too sweet for me, but I bet mixed with JD it would taste really good. Of course I'm sure it wouldn't be better than JD on the rocks IMO.

I might give it a go with the vanilla. I'm not a fan of cherries, but shall give it a shot, if I don't like it then I'm sure the vanilla on its own will be the deal. Sometimes things taste very different combined, so the cherry may well be quite nice (though not convinced until I try it...)

I have a bottle of Woodford Reserve. Great stuff. I will give that a shot.
