If you like this kind of rum, you should try the Plantation brand. They've got a range of rum from panama, guyana, barbabos, and a special 20th anniversary edition. The 20th anniversary is just wonderful, I highly recommend it.

Plantation is a lovely rum i stock it at my golf club and have tasted most of them the 20th Anniversary is probably the best think I posted a picture or two some time ago of about 8'of them

I’m a long time whisky drinker and only tried rum recently, was surprised how nice it was.

Just awaiting a bottle of the 20th Anniversary Plantation. I've heard good things so hope it lives up to my expectations.

The Plantation is very nice. Sweet, but not overtly so. I've always struggled to drink rum neat (part of this could be growing up with Jamaican relatives who drink stuff that could strip paint!) But this goes down very nicely with a long aftertaste. Might try it with a cigar at some point and see what they bring out in each other.

I'm not sure how often this thread is frequented now, but given the choice between the Diplomaticos and Havana Club Maestros variant, which would you go for. Both are similarly priced, but I only want one more rum 'on the shelf' at the moment.
