Have to say my top tipple is a Malt Whisky, at the moment The Glenlivet 15 yr old is getting a bit of a hit.
Enjoy most other Spirits too, Rum,Tequlia,Vodka all depends on the mood
Whats your's ?
I prefer spirits over beer, just dont like the stuff.
I'll drink pretty much anything within limits but I'm a vodka man myself, favorite has got to be Grey Goose, justs tastes so much cleaner than anything else out there (except belvedere, which comes pretty close)
Was absinthe, used to love the ritual of preparing it properly, but I had to ease up its strong stuff and hard to get of the good stuff, now its mostly vodka but kept in the freezer to make it thicker and nice as it goes down, and whatever takes my fancy as a bottle will only do a couple of days.
Love a good Vodka too, out of the freezer in a frozen shot glass a sip yum
We have a specialized Vodka bar here called "Reveloution" some great choices a favorite used to be Siwucha and the Grey Goose
If I'm going to have a Spirit, it will be a Whiskey of some kind. I'm not much of an expert in this field, but I think I enjoy chocolatey kinds of malts. I do like Penderyn (oh the coincidence since we're both welsh). Something like Aberlour is excellent too.
I must admit, I have to be in the right frame of mind for beer. And personally, I don't pair it with a smoke.
Spirits on the other hand, I do enjoy. A couple of nights ago, I had a Talisker, which was a tad more robust than the usual blends I sip.
The best Scotch for stogies, I think, is Laphroaig. Very peaty, deep and full of smoke. Would match a punchy short smoke, I think. Try Lap. Quarter Cask.
I love a good Speyside with a mild cigar and something stronger, like a 10 year old Arbelour with the heavies also love a good rum, but not so much the sweeter ones I adore my Margarita's and Bloody Mary's too
never really done the whole sprit and cigar thing but after monday nights rum tasting I will add my thoughts to this thread should be interesting to try
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips, Straining upon the start. The game's afoot: Follow your spirit, and upon this charge Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'
