Premium Tea

I have been thinking about buying some Matcha recently, but the difference in price and apparent ambiguity in quality is putting me off.

Does anyone have any experience in this field? My brother has some contacts in japan and if i can get an idea of what to try without wasting my money and I find something I like, I may get his contact to bring a decent amount over next time they travel.

When I was an apprentice I worked with a couple of old Labourers who made their tea in really manky old tin cans. It was like treacle and It made me feel sick every day, I like tea but still feel sick if its made in a cup with a tea bag, I've got to have it from a teapot.

When i was in blue, i was offered a brew in an old cracked jam jar that had clearly been used for mixing paint.

I tried to reject it and I obviously was not clear enough. I ended up having to put my stab proof gloves on to protect ny delicate hands from a burning hot jar with no handle which was slowly leaking scolding tea....
