Just started to drink my first batch of home brew in about five years. Decided to make a brown ale first and I have to say it's going down really well I also have a grand cru that will be ready next week. Is there any other home brewers here?
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!
I'm a very occasional home-brewer (something like every other year). Some super fiery ginger beer a few years ago was a roaring success - the last back of mild from Christmas 2013 is just about fully depleted.

Always fancied a ginger beer, might give that a go soon

thats good to know, I make kits. I haven't made any craft brews, I have always found the kits more convenient (and easier) as I said before this is the first I've made for five years, but I have been brewing on and off for around 25 years. Always found it to be a most rewarding hobby.

Definitely give the ginger beer a go - no more difficult than a kit beer. I may have gone a little overboard in the ginger though, along with the strength (in an attempt to mimic the infamous Grandma's Weapons Grade Ginger Beer I enjoyed whilst travelling the pubs of Cornwall from my base in Plymouth).
