Cold brewed coffee

While we're on it, cold extract makes a decent coffee syrup for baking. Get a pan of cold extract on the hob and heat gently to reduce slightly, add a good amount of sugar (to taste) and melt into the liquid.

Once cooled you can store it in bottles almost indefinitely and add it to cake mix etc.

Im sure some of the good cooks on here such as PJ could whip up a great cappuccino cake or mocha macaroon with it.

Sounds gorgeous taste-wise, although I have to drink de-caff these days as caffeine and I have had a problem when mixed in the past.

Yes I always do but I have noticed some people; my friend included, who just put their spoon into the milk and draw it up through the coffee then drink it.

The latest pot of cold brew brewing gently for 12 hours. This is made with Kimbo Italian coffee that @MarkLondon gave me last week. 80g of coffee makes a litre @cj121

I've used 80g of coffee to a litre I've prepared today, but does it have to be left for 12 hours + or can it be left for a shorter time of 8-12 hours as I've seen recommended elsewhere?

Suck it and see. I do know it has to be left longer if brewed in the fridge

I'm sure I read that its 12 hours at room temperature and 24 in the fridge. Not in a position to check at the moment.
