Santiago de Cuba dark rum is by far the nicest I've tried.

Puts Havana Club to shame.

Im not usually a Rum drinker but had a Kraken the other night and quite enjoyed it. Full flavoured and sweet, thought I could even taste a note of coffee to it. I think it would be a good pairing to a cigar.

I may be shot for this but I am not a rum person. Merely down to a lack of knowledge.
I can imagine they can go very well with a cigar in fact.
Maybe it is time to invest...

The rum has arrived earlier than expected so have just had a quick sample and I agree, a full rich sweet taste with chocolate & coffee notes and spicy aftertaste. Looking forward to some more as a nightcap later this evening and pairing it with a cigar soon. Thanks for the recommendation!
