How does it compare to auchentoshan three wood? Peatier, of course... But what else?
I'd imagine it be a completely different animal. But maybe there are some similarties when aged in similar wood (sherry, bourbon, etc etc etc)

The auchentoshan is smoother and more complex imo. The laphroig was sharper and had far less of a finish. The quarter cask is far better for my buds.

I'd imagine LeFrog would leave much more of a finish with the separate maturation. I'll do a bit more digging on this

The finish was really short on LeFrog (LOL!). Remember tho that there's no age statement on the triple wood, so it's probably a young 'un.

About 3/4 of the way down the Hibiki and it's taken on a really sweet marzipan nose. And it's smoother than when I opened it.
