Tommy, JW Red label is a mixing whisky if there ever was one. Great with soda or coke but not so much on its own IMO. It's a good deal when they drop it to ?14 now and then but at ?18 theres better.
It's a shame that JW Black is usually ?28 now because it used to be a good deal at ?20ish but is in single malt territory now.
Black is is much much better than the red so when it's on offer it's worth picking up.
At the low price point, Famous Grouse and Hankey Bannister are two I keep coming back to.... But don't expect single malt quality.
