I picked a couple of bottles up from ALDI recently. I really wasn't expecting much at 18 quid a bottle.
I really was pleasantly surprised. I have had worse for more money. I will be trying the Islay next time
I pop in there.
Lots of nice whiskies being consumed here guys. I have had a couple of bottles of the 12 year old Aldi Speyside recently, no photos and I'm afraid, only empty bottles
I'm with you on that Shamz most everything from Islay is great, full of complexity. Comparing Haig Club to a Laphroaig is like comparing a bolivar to a supermarket cigarillo.
I've gone back to it tonight....Not great...I don't know if my recent love of Islay whisky has changed my palate but I really didn't enjoy the Haig club this evening

I thought Haig club was horrible, Monkeys Shoulder is far nicer in that price bracket. Was in america this week and bought a litre of Woolford Reserve and that is lovely.
How's the Haig Shamz? The only time I've tried it was at an airport at 7 in the morning so I was barely awake, time doesn't apply at airports
