Lagavulin 16yo treat for a deal done

So I've been absent recently because I'm working on a project which for me is significant (pays literally all of the bills per month). The deal looked like it was falling apart but yesterday I was verbally told that I have it after all. In keu of the paperwork I decided to buy the above bottle for this weekend which we are spending in a little cottage with friends. I'm looking forward to both the whisky and a true break from work.
The whisky is said to be a good example of a peaty islay according to the whiskey exchange. The bottle is kind of appealing too so I'm hoping it is to my taste. The Balvenie double wood was amazing, any suggestions of similar whiskey to that would be very welcome chaps.

If you can find it, i'd highly also recommend the 12 YO.
Not worth the price bump IMHO. But some people swear by it.

The laggy 16 is a great selection, though. And I hope you can pair that with a 1966 very soon.

Woodford reserve is nice but no where near deserving the above statement.

I love lagavulin tommy my go to malt, you wont be disappointed unless you dont like peaty ones of course

Knock yourself out. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. You may not be a liar just no taste for whisky maybe, would that have been a better way to approach your fact you stated. Either way no need keep it clenched so hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
