Don't wanna be using a top quality Malt for sure, but I find all those three reasonable cheap blends.

Nice Marc, I did gin last year and used it to make sloe gin. So what I ended with was sloe gin made for water sugar sloes and some botanicals. It was like having a baby, I was so proud. If I was a peacock my tail would have been magnificent. I have maybe five nips left so I really need to get with my still again soon. I need more stuff to run through it so don't chuck away any bad brews, bring them here.Originally posted by ValeTudoGuy View PostI like Whisky so would probably go 1:8 Whisky to Honey.
To make a proper Honey Liqueur like Drambuie, which IMO is a much better drink than The recent influx of "X" with honey.
1 tsp fennel seeds
2 tsp rosemary leaves
3/4 cup whisky
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup water
Grind the fennel then simmer everything together (not the whisky) for 10 mins or so to infuse. Cool and then pour it in a Jam Jar with the Whisky and shake every day for 5 days. Strain it into a bottle.
It will keep for ages, months and months.
You can swap out the fennel and rosemary for plenty of other stuff: Ginger, Cinnamon, Star Anise, Black Pepper, Nutmeg...... Etc, etc... But it's gonna be a very different drink.

Love the label on the middle one. Just wondering if you have had dimple? After breaking bad I googled it and it had great reviews. With whisky being in two camps its hard to say who likes what. I know that I like the pale stuff not the peaty TCP stuff and my favourite to date is the Glenrothes I had recently.Originally posted by ValeTudoGuy View PostAny of these.

Haig Dimple is most certainly one of the best blended whiskeys going. If you ever find an old bottle 70's/80's then buy it instantly.Originally posted by tommy View PostLove the label on the middle one. Just wondering if you have had dimple? My grandad has a Beehive but no bees yet...... In the mean time, get yourself down to an Asian supermarket and buy H@sbal, it's great for the money and makes fantastic mead.Originally posted by tommy View PostIf I get some bees I could make Meade, and a spirit made of Meade. Hmmmm
The cheap pure stuff at Morrison's is also good in a pinch.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14
