Nice. Howcome some people on the interwebs can manage to come across as decent guys, a la Monkey, even if they're kind of disagreeing with you. Where as others will call any old fella a pompous a**hat just for offering an opinion. I'm no coffee snob but I have been on a coffee journey and like to share my knowledge to help others. I try and learn as much as I can from others on forums as there's no point in re-inventing the wheel every time you want to learn something. Obviously you and I have different methods of making our way through life. I guess from now on we'll just keep out of each others way and enjoy the forum for what we get out of it.

You really know how to make people feel welcome don't you Haha!

      ...and breath.

Please remember plain text is a very poor form of communication.

Not the same as round the table so more restraint is always a good approach

man, i've never had a problem with anyone on here, because most on here are open to other's opinions! i've been a member of this forum for a couple of years now and tried to be as much help to 'newbies' in respect of the help and friendliness i recieved here! i am by no means an expert, afficianado or connoisseur in my interests, i enjoy smoking cuban cigars, drinking nice coffe and tea and sampling fine alcohol! i certainly don't rubbish others for their tastes or be presumptuous and pompous about their tastes! you were suggesting i needed guidance to appreciate what i now enjoy day to day and that i have a less than refined pallette! that was what i found insulting...... assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Oh, and i have offended many with my text and comments over the years, i just try hard not to too often.

Don't you love it when you can use two too/to/two's in a sentence

You really know how to endear yourself to someone don't you.

With one breath you're saying how it's important to offer opinions, with the next you're saying how mine aren't valid because you disagree with them.

I too have had enough of this anyway so I'll bow out.

you weren't offering an opinion........ if you were, this would have been sorted! instead you were trying to enforce a point of view that's subjective, whilst attempting to insult me! it was your arrogance that i took exception and offence to.....

                now, cheerio!

Phew! my thread has become a gladiatorial arena where two men are slogging out the subject of coffee. It reminds me of two people arguing outside of my front door early one morning.

Come on men, it's not anything to get arsed about. Coffee is like cigars - there are some we stay well away from, others we have on special occasions, and still others as general consumables.

Now, time for a lovely cup of Camp with chicory and evaporated milk.

Don't mention that stuff, you'll get them angry again - Senor Robusto will only drink Tesco Value Instant but ChimpsInTies is adamant that only Kenco Gold Blend is good enough! Anyone for a Cafe Creme?
If you want a midget to look like a baby, don't put a cigar in his mouth.

Haha, It's funny you should mention that. I got right into Gold Blend a few weeks back. It had to be half coffee half mink but it really wasn't that bad

How is the mink prepared? Do you have to blend him, or just boil alive then distil the essence?

mr chimp, we got off on a wrong foot, minor disagreement on something not totally important!myou're obviously passionate about your coffee, that's great! i do hope mr cigar takes the time to try out your recommendations, as well as mine! there's no definitive viewpoint here, it's all subjective! fair enough?

now, i'm gonna give this new coffee my father in law swears by...... red mountain i think it's called! lol
