bruichladdich advice please.......

hey all,
i've finished off a bottle of bruichladdich 'the laddie 10', one of the nicest whiskies i've tasted! as i've said before, i'm not much of a scotch fan, more of an irish whiskey fan! i'm not a big lover of peated whisky! anyway, i'm looking advice from you guys who are familiar with bruichladdichs other tipples, especially their 'organic', 'islay barley', 1992 fino sherry, sherry classic!!!

any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated!!

The Sherry finish Laddie is lovely stuff, especially when compared to other Pedro Ximenez finishes from other distillers. Can be difficult to source at times though.

If you like Irish then you could try an Auchentoshan - it is a Scotch Malt but is triple distilled like the Irish whiskies. It's not one of my favourites but I know a lot of people do like it. It has a light spirit style to it. The distillery is just north of Glasgow so the whisky is an offical Lowland whisky.

You could also try a Glenmorangie - probably a bit more accessible than Auchentoshan - they do some nice finishes and you can ususally find it on offer in Supermarkets. The Nectar D'Or is a really nice dram to take all night long.

cheers guys, especially you steve!!! that was quite an interesting review from you guys, honest and to the point! it sounded quite appealing, though not as a whisky! lol.....

anyway, reckon i'll be hitting up the whiskey exchange for a bottle of bruichladdich 2003 organic in the next week or so, and depending on overtime, maybe a bottle of the islay barley as well:

cheers for the recommendations wardjrz! i'm not looking a scotch to replace or taste like an irish! i just don't want a scotch that smells and tastes like i've added water to the ash collected from my father in law's fire (he burns turf)!! i've tried glenmorangie, the nector d'or as well!!! nice stuff, just not for me!!! the laddie 10 ticked all my boxes, that's why i'm keen to explore other whisky's by the brand....

You could be sampling their produce for quit some while. I've lost count of their bottlings. Frankly best avoid their history it's a bit of a hotch potch. Some good some not so good and probably never to be repeated. Old stock out new stock new beginnings. Spend ur time on other brands

Sorry I misunderstood. I do appreicate that not everyone likes heavily peated whisky.

I'm also a Brookie fan, I'm taking a holiday on Islay in May this year and will be visiting the distillery. I've had three of their Futures offers (all peated) and have over 20 different Brookie distillery bottlings at home.

They produce a high number of bottligs every year from the reasonably priced to the quite expensive.

They produce whisky from both peated and non peated malt as well as lots of different finishes.

I haven't bought a recent Brookie though so my knowledge would be of bottlings that are probably not available any more.
