So along with the tin of BB1938 I also got hold of a tin of HH pure Virginia, as a straight Virginia blend this goes in my trusty Church Warden.
The tin note is like a toasted hot cross bun sweet bready and rasiny basically all the things you expect from a Virginia blend, takes a few lights to get going along and obviously it burns hot.
The initial hit is very bitter grassy hay hit, however after a few puffs and a retrohale that raisin hot cross bun bread sweetness plays front centre and in a big way. The grassy tones now playing delicately in the background of the raisin and hot cross bun sweetness.
I get the impression Tolkien would have enjoyed this blend somewhat, no tongue bite though if you push it, its gonna get real hot and that will translate to the smoke.
But it never looses that sweetness and just slight grassy after tone, room note is of raisin bread and delightful all day smoke easily perfect on a sunny day as its a bright smoke
Nic hit.is medium, and this is by far the sweetest Virginia I've ever had more so than Orlik which surprises me. I know Macbaren have recently announced the HH line is being discontinued so get hold of em while you can very nice a solid 4.4 out of 5
