  • Gawith Hogarth Bobs CH flake

So been exploring lakelands, which I adore and its time I tried this legendary blend.

So on the tin note or bag bote as finding a tin of this is a pain but Plenty of it loose. Its Coco powder very light airy chocolate with a nutty slightly woodsy aroma with that Lakeland sweetness and vanilla all on the nose.

It smells divine and really outright like you could eat the stuff, it's that appetising. Trying this out for the first time in my corn cob. The flake breaks apart nicely not too moist and its coating my fingers in that tin note lovely stuff.

I was told not to pack this as tight and as it was my first go only filled the bowl half way. So light it up and char and tamp it to get it going and it gets going real easy I'm assuming due to the Latakia.

The initial hit is a sweet smokey wood, rounded by a sweet soft vanilla and some of that usual Lakeland sweetness, so its both nutty woody smokey rounded by the sweetness of the Lakeland and the Virginias in this.

I tend to be a fast puffer but was warned to sip this, so I did and as I slowed with longer deeper draws and allowing time, and then bam the coco comes to play its reminiscent of Hot Chocolate which when mixed with the previous flavours turns the dimensions of this into something like the smells and taste you would get drinking a spiced Hot Chocolate over a roaring campfire.

The slower you sip the more pronounced the chocolate and spiced flavours become, smoke this faster and harder and the smokiness campfire hit becomes more pronounced.

So I'd echo sip this to fully appreciate the depth of the complexity of this blend as there is so much going on but what's beautiful is those flavours all compliment each other creating this incredible smoke of as I say a Spiced Hot Chocolate over a campfire rounded with sweet Lakeland hits and that vanilla softening the smokiness so its never to bitter adding that nuttiness a hazelnut quality.

It leaves a very nutty smoky aftertaste in your mouth with just a touch of the coco so a complex but enjoyable after taste, room note great.

Bobs CH flake is highly regarded like all lakelands while you can call it an aromatic this isn't the standard aromatic its flavourful complex beautiful and certainly fits the Lakeland bill in delivering natural flavour.

Can't recommended this enough this is 9.5 out of 10 smoke for me first rate.
