So when I tried a little bowl of Capstan I detected just the slightest note of earl grey floral type note, I quite enjoy that being a fan of Earl Grey tea, and since Orlik has a sugar and bergamot casing to it I thought why not.
So I used a half flake of Orlik which is folded with a small core of Capstan and stuffed into the bowl. Took a little time to get going but very nice bowl, I'd suggest if you do this yourself a smaller amount of Capstan, you want the Orlik to the heavier lifting as it's the more flavourful of the two.
It's going to pack a fairly strong medium NIC hit, obviously that's a lot of Virginias with the smidgen of Perique in the Orlik so it's going to be hot, especially if you have a larger amount of Capstan.
I probably used too much Capstan this time around as it can take a while to get going, with a core of Capstan your looking at just a pinch so the core is just a few strands. As I got to bottom of this bowl where Orlik outnumbered the Capstan is when this little experiment sang to life really bringing out the early grey notes of both the Capstan and Orlik, which is normal more hot cross bun cinnamony on its own.
So it's a great little mix but depending on what you want will depend on the amount in the mix, my preference is for the Capstan to act as a bit of seasoning Orlik should be the main body.
